Indoor Garden Tips

1.Germination
Check the seed's information regarding its optimal temperature and days to germinate. Plant 3-5 seeds per sponge. Some seeds germinate in less than 24 hours,
some take 1-7 days, others require 1-4 weeks.
Note: Plants have seasonal, periodic, and regional characteristics. Different plant characteristics (temperature, light, and atmospheric humidity) are all related to
plant growth. Planting crops suitable for local growth in the current season is the best.
Plant Type Optimal Temperature
Coriander 62.6-68℉
Basil 59-82.4℉
Peppermint 77-86℉
Rosemary 59-68℉
Cherry tomatoes 64.4-82.4℉
Thymus vulgaris 68-77℉
Sunflower 69.8-78.8℉
Pepper 59-93.2℉
Cucumber 50-89.6℉
Tom tomato 64.4-82.4℉
Arugula 64.4-86℉
Lettuce 59-68℉
2.Transplant
Only when you see rhizome (plant stems) around the sponge may you transplant the seedling.
Split the sponge and take only one seedling out and move it to another pot.
Put the sponge back, only keep one seedling in the sponge in order to give it sufficient nutrition.
3.Pruning
Prune your plants to maintain their height, as opposed to continuing to raise the
Light Panel. Pruning ensures your plants stay compact and healthily distanced
from the Light Panel, which will provide you with a bigger harvest!
Pruning the plant just above a new leaf set while maintaining the Light Panel
height will ensure that slow-growing plants in your garden get all the light they
need to flourish.
Prune often to maintain a healthy garden, but never take more than 1/3 of each
individual plant at a time.
Plants compete for light. Left untended, fast-growing plants can even begin to
block enough light to suppress the growth of their slower-growing neighbors.
Spreading leaves must be trimmed to ensure slow growers continue to receive
enough light to thrive and produce big yields.
Finally, pruning can also mean harvesting. Each time you prune you get to enjoy
fresh herbs in a salad, soup on pizza or a sandwich. A full, healthy garden will look
much better than a giant, uncontrolled mess. Pruning keeps your Gardening Kit under control.
4.Pollinating
Because most people do not have bees in their home, you will need to start
manually pollinating your fruiting plants (tomatoes, peppers, etc.) once they begin
to flower (approximately 4–6 weeks after planting). To pollinate, use one or more
of the following methods:
1. Place an open hand inside plant branches and gently move your hand back and
forth to shake the plant and spread the pollen. Do this carefully to avoid injury.
2. Use one cotton swab or fine brush to gently rub the flowers of different plants
and promote the effects of cross-pollination.
5 Plants distance from Light Board and light cycle
(When the plant is in the germination stage, the lamp board can be adjusted to the lowest position. When the crop is in the growth stage, please adjust the lamp board height according to the following height suggestions)
Plant Type Optimal Temperature Illumination Time Distance from Light Board
Coriander 62.6-68℉ 14-16h 4-6inch
Basil 59-82.4℉ 16-18h 4-6inch
Peppermint 77-86℉ 18-24h 2-8inch
Rosemary 59-68℉ 16-18h 4-6inch
Cherry tomatoes 64.4-82.4℉ 14-16h 4-6inch
Thymus vulgaris 68-77℉ 18-20h 4-6inch
Sunflower 69.8-78.8℉ 16-18h 2-6inch
Pepper 59-93.2℉ 16-18h 4-6inch
Cucumber 50-89.6℉ 16-18h 4inch
Tom tomato 64.4-82.4℉ 14-16h 4-6inch
Arugula 64.4-86℉ 16-18h 4inch
Lettuce 59-68℉ 16-20h 4-6inch
6. Spectrum Information
Choose different light supplement modes according to different types of plant (same duration of light supplement) (Fruits & Flowers/Vegetables)
Four-Color Lamp Beads
RED
Red light can promote plant photosynthesis, germination, flowering, and fruiting; promote the formation of anthocyanins; promote the formation of plastids (including chloroplasts); and promote the synthesis of chloroplasts
FAR RED LIGHT
If a normally growing plant is illuminated by far-red light, the plant feels as if another plant is blocking direct sun light, so it grows harder to break through the cover. This helps plants grow taller.
BLUE
Blue light strongly inhibits the growth of plants, especially stems (succulent/epicormic), which is conducive to the growth of plant leaves and plays a major role in phototropism.
WHITE
Adjust soft light
In order to be more in line with the growth habits of plants, when any supplemental light mode is turned on (Fruits & Flowers/Vegetables), the light board will automatically shut down after 16 hours of smart supplemental light, sleep for 8 hours, and automatically cycle settings.
Power: The power of the whole machine is about 24W, and the power of the lamp board is about 21w.
7. Precautions for the use of nutrient solution
Nutrient solution When prompted to add water, you should add nutrient solution according to the concentration ratio when adding water.
Too much nutrient solution or too little is not conducive to the growth of plants.
Pay attention to the use of nutrient solution in hot weather In a high temperature environment, the volatilization speed of the nutrient solution will be faster and moisture will tend to evaporate.
We recommend that users change the water every 7-15 days, depending on the circumstances, and add nutrient solution according to the concentration ratio.
Flowering and fruiting stage Add water once a week and add nutrient solution according to the concentration of the nutrient solution to ensure the absorption of potassium.
Nutrient solution concentration prompt Please follow the nutrient solution instructions; too much or too little will be detrimental to plant growth.
8. Peppermint cuttings
Mint plant cuttings: You need to select the stronger branches of the year for cuttings. Keep 2-3 nodes of the branch, and pay attention to the 45° bevel cut at the socket. At the same time, leave a node above the cut as the rooting point. Insert 0.5-1 cm into the planting block.
9. Side buds and leaves can be trimmed
When the plant is 10-15cm or more from the light board, it can be pruned appropriately. Depending on the growth of the plant, keep 2-3 nodes for pruning, and try to keep it as flush as possible. Do not cut too far away from the node, about 0.5 cm is enough.
After pruning the plant, clean the dead branches and leaves, and promptly wipe the smart flowerpot to make the whole plant more attractive.
When the plant is 10-15cm or more from the light board, it can be pruned appropriately. When there are flower spikes, keep 1 branch and trim off the others. At the same time, trim excess branches and leaves to reduce nutrient loss, improve ventilation, reduce pests and diseases, and increase sunlight.
10. Moss and mold growth on planting cloth
Reasons why moss grows:
1. In a hydroponic environment, the humidity is high and the planting block contains a lot of water;
2. Adding nutrient solution during the process enriches the nutrient content of the water. When the planting block absorbs this water, it can encourage the growth of moss.
Countermeasures: 1. Use shading paper; 2. Improve the ventilation.
11. Advice on Pests
Pest Control:
1. They can be caught manually if there are only a few;
2. Set insect traps;
3. Use biological agents such as matrine and beauveria bassiana for prevention and treatment.
